IN THE BEGINNING….

Hey Diary,
Wow! What a ride I have been on over these past few months. As you know, I started working with Reverend Glas to do research and editing for her e-books. We had our pre-editing meeting to discuss where she wants to take this, how she wants it presented, etc. etc. I thought we had covered every aspect fully and were now ready to forge ahead. WRONG!!! Here is what happened.
I had gotten over the surprise that we were starting with book #3, the book about the Rapture, and how much time we have left on Earth, and lots more astounding topics. She told me her teachers (on the spirit-side of life) had directed her to start with this topic first, and as she always says, “I do what they tell me and don’t question it unless something doesn’t feel right to me.”
Okay, so we are going along with the editing and we get to a section that was written in probably the most passive voice I have seen in years! I proceeded to tell her about writing in passive voice versus writing in active voice. I could tell I was losing her when her eyes started rolling up into their sockets and she was blinking like a frog in a hail storm. That’s when I knew there was a problem, (just to understate the situation).
Rev. Glas let me go on and on about the principles of good writing and what I would like her to change about the paragraph we were discussing. She gave me the weirdest, but cute, face and kind of picked at her nails nervously. When I was done, she said, “Ooo, can I please leave it the way it is?” I asked why she was so set in writing something that I had just taken considerable time explaining was wrong.
